Somali

Somali cats are a long-haired type of cat.  Somalis cats have an active, intelligent, playful, curious personality and appearance.  Unlike most long-haired cats, Somali cats shed very little excess hair.

Somali cats have a bushy tail, and combined with their ruddy coat, has earned them the nickname of "fox cats" in some circles. Somali cats have ticked coats, which is a variation on tabby markings, and some Somalis may show full tabby stripes on portions of their bodies, but this is seen as a flaw, and tabby Somalis are only sold as neutered pets.
